CONSTITUTION / MOLAOTHEO

Where there is no leadership the flock will perish. Equally, the leader without a guiding document governing the masses, it is a sure recipe for disaster and lack of progress.
It is against this background that this FAACYL saw it fit to develop a guiding document that will assist its members towards a common goal and growth.

1. PREAMBLE

First Apostolic Assembly Church Youth League is a structure under First Apostolic Assembly Church, which seeks to unite youth members of the church as one family for future development of the church.

  • FAAC – First Apostolic Assembly Church
  • FAACYL – First Apostolic Assembly Church Youth League
  • AGM – Annual General Meeting

a. To promote Christian spiritual well-being among youth members
b. To promote academic excellency within youth members
c. To promote financial freedom / independency

a. To see youth members living according to the Biblical instructions
b. To see youth members having financial freedom

a. To encourage Biblical and Theological study
b. To encourage youth members to strive for anything (legally accepted) leading to financial freedom

a. Anyone between the ages of 18 – 40 years old can be a member of the FAACYL, provided that s/he is baptized and a member of FAAC
b. Member will ONLY be confirmed upon signing of the Declaration that s/he shall be bind by the FAACYL constitution

Every member of the FAACYL shall have the right:
a. To be equally heard, treated and protected
b. To vote and/or be voted in any office of the youth league
c. To participate in meetings, social media platforms and other activities organized by FAACYL

Every member of the FAACYL shall have a duty:
a. To participate in all activities / ceremonies organized by FAACYL
b. Be loyal to the FAACYL
c. To preserve and respect the Constitution, Resolutions, Decisions of AGM, Executive and Constitutional Structures, Rules and Regulations of the FAACYL
d. To constantly and continuously strive to raise the level of his / her own Christian spiritual well-being and visibility
e. To grow, strengthen, promote and defend the FAACYL
f. To conduct himself / herself honestly and honourably, in broadly dealing with FAACYL affairs, especially on social media and church ceremonies
g. To put the interests of the FAACYL above any other organizations
h. Contribute R50.00 into FAACYL bank account every 3 months per annum

The dress code shall be as prescribed by the FAAC.

a. Female Dress Code (18 – 30 years old)

  • White dress / white shirt with white skirt
  • Blue shoulder club
  • Green waist robe
  • White hat
  • White shoes

b. Female Dress Code (31 – 40 years old)

  • Blue top/shirt with white skirt
  • White shoulder club
  • Green waist robe
  • White hat
  • White shoes


c. Male Dress Code (18 – 40 years old)

  • White shirt with black trouser
  • Black tie
  • Black shoes
  • White coat
  • Church-branded blue and white cross-chest belt
8.1. FAACYL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, COMPRISING OF 5 PEOPLE

i. The President, who shall:

  • Offer strategic and decisive leadership to the FAACYL Executive Committee and FAACYL membership on programs aimed at achieving all the Objectives of FAACYL as outlined in the constitution
  • Unite the youth and serves as the link between FAACYL and FAAC
  • Accounting head for the FAACYL executive
  • Be knowledgeable of the activities of the FAACYL
  • Have a character and be the face of the FAACYL
  • Protect the image of the FAACYL

ii. The Deputy President, who shall:

  • Assist the President on his / her duties
  • Serve as the President in the absence of the President
  • Lead and coordinate Bible study program for the FAACYL
  • With the assistance of FAAC, conduct and coordinate workshop seminars on topics that affect the Youth and/or Christians by application of the Word of God

iii. The General Secretary, who shall:

  • Convey, communicate and articulate key decisions of the FAACYL to all the members and structures of the FAACYL
  • Be ultimately responsible for the record keeping and correspondence within the FAACYL, including the minutes of all meetings of the organization
  • Responsible to send out notices of all meetings
  • Present to the FAACYL Executive Committee and FAACYL comprehensive statement on the state of the organization and programs of the FAACYL

iv. The Deputy Secretary, who shall:

  • Assist and deputize for the secretary whenever the situation demands so
  • Serve as the General Secretary in the absence of the General Secretary
  • Keep the data base of all FAACYL membership up to date and readily available (Total number of members, names, address, contact details, activity profiles – academic/work)
  • Manage FAACYL social media platforms
  • Monitor activities and conduct of FAACYL members on FAACYL social media platforms

v. The Treasurer, who shall:

  • Be responsible for all financial records of the organization
  • Be responsible for all fundraising activities of FAACYL
  • Be accountable for all the cashflow of the organization
  • Be responsible to coordinate and arrange all transport related activities of FAACYL

i. This will consist of two (2) or three (3) members of the FAAC
ii. Appointed exclusively by the FAACYL Executive Committee
iii. Shall serve as advisory committee to the FAACYL Executive Committee
iv. Organize workshop, training and development for the FAACYL Executive Committee

i. Shall consist of two (2) members of FAACYL and the President of FAACYL
ii. Responsible to promote, communicate and interpret FAACYL constitution and code of conduct
iii. Shall have the powers, together with FAACYL Executive Committee, to enforce compliance to FAACYL constitution and code of conduct
iv. Impose and collect fines (R50.00 for late payment of annual quarterly contribution, R100.00 per incident of incomplete applicable dress code) from FAACYL members

a. Elections of members into office will follow standard democratical processes by way of voting of hands, with the winner declared by majority votes

b. Only members of FAACYL in good standing are eligible to contest elections

c. Election campaigns are allowed to begin three (3) months before an elective conference, after the announcement of the conference date

d. Elective conference shall be held every second year’s AGM

e. The following positions shall be available for contestations at every elective conference:

  • i. President
  • ii. Deputy President
  • iii. General Secretary
  • iv. Deputy Secretary
  • v. Treasurer
  • vi. 2x Members to serve in the Disciplinary Committee


f. The term of office for all structures of FAACYL shall be two (2) continuous years

g. Members can contest elections to serve a maximum of two (2) terms in a row.

  • FAACYL Executive Committee is accountable to the FAACYL and FAAC
  • FAACYL Executive Committee can co-opt members of FAACYL and FAAC into achieving its objectives for their term of office. The co-opted members will report to FAACYL Executive Committee
  • FAACYL constitution and its amendment shall be adopted by FAACYL before being presented at the FAAC for approval by FAA
  • The decisions of FAAC are binding to FAACYL
  • AGM shall be held once per year, with the date announced at least 3 months in advance
  • The AGM of every second year shall be named elective conference
  • All members of FAACYL must attend the AGM, if a member is unable to attend s/he should tender an apology
  • The following reports have to be presented at every AGM:
    i. AGM remains the highest decision making meeting for the FAACYL.
    ii. Only AGM can amend the constitution of the FAACYL
